Port Injected

Shes compression and fire, breathing
piston and smoke.  Crankshaft hips
at 2500 rpm, she cruises.  Cams
glide on silk lifters.  With a fluid stalking crawl
she cycles along my surface.  Sucked through
valve ports the injected mixture ignites
into combustion.

We stall spent as she idles
down to a throaty purr.

I can nearly feel her rpm rising and falling.
