Unease

That Night

That night I wanted to put my tongue inside
you, lick

the thoughts that make your voice
tremble.  I wanted to send whispers

of dry wind through your canyons; rub
unease from your thighs.

That night I wanted to pull over
you, like a summer sheet

and hear your confessions bleed
against my chest.

That night you passed by me,
with only a glance.
